Printmaking is my chosen language of expression. Using the qualities of the media and manipulation of photographic imagery, I convey observations of the process of living a life. The works are not deliberately autobiographical but symbolise many people’s reactions to situations and times. They describe life by abstracting a related series of images; elements of a scene, a person at various ages or fragments of memory. The majority of my recent work incorporates photo etching but I am fascinated by, and use, all printmaking methods. Major series of works started in 2005 are a series of mono prints entitled ‘Watching’. They allow the viewer to look in a window at scenes of objects and dolls playing out aspects of daily life.
